APA is a non-profit trade organization built by photographers for photographers. Now in our fourth decade, APA exists to provide business tools and creative inspiration which help photographic artists of all levels run a smarter, more creative, and profitable business.

The American Society of Media Photographers is the premier trade association for the world’s most respected photographers. ASMP is the leader in promoting photographers’ rights, providing education in better business practices, producing business publications for photographers, and helping to connect clients with professional photographers. ASMP, founded in 1944, has nearly 7,000 members and 39 chapters.

The American Society of Picture Professionals, Inc. (ASPP) is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (6) corporation. Incorporated in 1969, ASPP is uniquely positioned to create forums for multi-disciplinary discussions on the ever-evolving photography industry. The association has maintained its balance of members drawn from the whole spectrum of the business, from photo researchers and editors, agency personnel, photographers, licensing managers, archivists and publishers to designers and teachers. Through our regional chapters, national programs, quarterly magazine and informative website, ASPP provides an open exchange of information on industry ethics and standards, business practices, and the needs created by new technology and ideas.

The Association of Independent Architectural Photographers® is an Internet-based trade association with one primary purpose: To promote the professional success of established independent architectural photographers.

The International Industrial Photographers Association is an international organization for the professional industrial photographer. The aim of the I.I.P.A. is to look after and to promote the concern of the industrial photographers. Internet is an adequate and a fast medium to communicate and to exchange information to each other and/or via the I.I.P.A. The I.I.P.A. is an initiative of Fur Photography and has been founded in June 1996.

We promote the highest standards in visual journalism, and the credibility of our profession is the responsibility of every member of NPPA. Accuracy in our work, and integrity in our relationships with the public we serve, are essential qualities for all professional visual journalists. Members sign and adhere to the NPPA Code of Ethics, demonstrating to employers that they are committed to the utmost integrity. NANPA (North American Nature Photography Association) promotes responsible nature photography as an artistic medium for the documentation, celebration, and protection of our natural world.

The Photographic Society of America (PSA) is a worldwide organization providing a wide range of services that promote photography and benefits to its members. Individual members can participate in competitions, study groups and on-line education programs designed to advance their photographic knowledge and skills. Competitions are held for clubs, councils, federations and chapters, also. Member image galleries are always available for viewing. An annual youth photography showcase, open to all students of high school age, is conducted as well. Opportunities for image analysis and critique as well as discounts for both hardware and software products are available for all members. In addition to special access to a Member's Only area on this dynamic and informative website, every member receives the high-quality PSA Journal each month.

For nearly a century, PMA has served the needs of people across all aspects of the photo industry, including equipment manufacturers, dealers, photo service providers, imaging labs, photographers, software/app developers, educators and more. Just as the business of photo imaging has changed dramatically over the years, so too has PMA evolved, bringing new tools, resources, information and opportunities to its members worldwide.

Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is a worldwide trade association of professional photographers. As of 2016, PPA has more than 29,000 members in 64 countries worldwide.

The Royal Photographic Society exists to promote photography and image-making and to support photographers in realising their potential, irrespective of their level of knowledge, equipment or skills. It has an international membership. The Society also acts as a public advocate for photography and photographers.

The Society for Photographic Education is a nonprofit membership organization that provides and fosters an understanding of photography as a means of diverse creative expression, cultural insight, and experimental practice. Through its interdisciplinary programs, services and publications, the society seeks to promote a broader understanding of the medium in all its forms through teaching and learning, scholarship, and criticism.

Family Photojournalist Association, an organization devoted to accrediting and promoting the expertise of family photographers who deploy still-photography reportage and documentary authenticity to tell the story of the family.
